When this idea first came up last year I instantly fell in love. One of my program's student leaders brought the concept to the table but we didn’t get to do much with it. A year later I have thought long and hard and really wanted to revamp the original idea and make it my own to share with all of you, so here it goes!
The phrase “perfectly imperfect” isn’t new but it has SO much meaning to me. This concept is everywhere, from my life, my education, my world, they are all perfectly imperfect. So many times I try to push for perfection. I overwhelm myself with the need to do and be the best and then I am disappointed when I constantly fail. Perfectly Imperfect is a reminder that I am exactly who and where I need to be. My struggles and imperfections both shape and encourage me. If I never fail then I will never understand the power of success. If I never hurt I will be able to support others who hurt. If I am unable to see my imperfections as beautiful then I will never truly be able to love myself. The same goes for all of you! Embrace your perfect imperfections in all areas of your world. Love yourself, encourage yourself, and strive to continue pushing forward. No it won’t be easy but you are worth it! No matter what your struggle is know that you are not alone!
So here is my challenge to you: tell your story! What is something you love about yourself, your life, your world that is perfectly imperfect. What have you overcome that has shaped you and that can inspire and encourage others?there is power in speaking up and saying something. Without sharing your story, you and others will continue to suffer in silence, and that's an awful place to be. Be apart of the change and join this campaign that is so special to me and my heart. And don't forget when you post your story on any social media site use the hashtags: #perfectlyimperfectperson #breannalashellspeaking #stopbullyingspeakup
If you would like your story to be featured on the website and social media page please let me know! I would love to feature your story and let others be inspired by you, just shoot me an email at email@example.com. I will also be participating in this challenge as well as my entire Stop Bullying Speak Up Board, so make sure that you stay tuned for our stories!
Plus if you send in your story by September 16, 2016 you will be entered into a giveaway for a perfectly imperfect tumbler!!! (USA residents only for this giveaway)
